The Bike Valley group is based in Paal-Beringen and members include Ridley, helmet specialists Lazer, clothing manufacturers BioRacer, coaching company EnergyLab, and Flanders Drive, who help develop low carbon vehicles. The consortium were told yesterday that that Flanders regional government had awarded them the cash to help develop the facility.

Spotlight: Lazer Vision Optics Lens Technology

Different riding conditions require different lenses. Bright sunny days, overcast clouds, riding at dusk or in the dark, each condition required that a different lens be used.

Lazer Vision Optics Eyewear offers models that accept different lenses and it's possible to change out the lenses on our glasses in just seconds.

But what if you are going to be riding in a variety of conditions during the same ride? Do you really want to carry different lenses with you while you ride and stop to switch out lenses?

At Lazer we have solved these problems by offering Photochromic Lens Technology with eyewear that will actually adjust automatically to changing light conditions allowing a single lens to be used throughout your ride!

We offer two different lenses in our Photochromic Technology.

The first is the Crystal Photochromic lens. To be used in most riding circumstances, the Crystal Photochromic lens allows a maximum of 75% light transmission to the eyes in the darkest conditions to a minimum of 25% light transmission to the eyes in the brightest conditions. The Crystal Photochromic lens would be your best choice for all around riding conditions.

For more extreme riding conditions we offer the Melanin Photochromic lens. The Melanin lens allows a maximum of 31% light transmission to the eyes down to just 12% of light transmission in the brightest conditions. The Melanin lens is also injected with synthetic melanin, developed with BNL Eurolenses, and provides an SPF 140 sun protection to the area of the face covered by the lens! The Melanin lens also filter blue light to help eliminate optical blurring and haziness.

Lazer Vision also offers Panorama Lens Technology with optics by Carl Zeiss Vision. Panorama lenses enhance and widen the field of clear vision by 20% to provide you with a sharper, clearer view as your eye moves from the center of the lens to the outer edge.
