Helmeteer Down

This is personal for us. We take this seriously. We are always testing our products. Sometimes this testing gets a bit too "real world" however.

Recently the owner of the company and Head Helmeteer took testing to new lengths when he was hit by a car on his evening ride. When cycling on a bike lane, a car that first stopped suddenly took off again right when he was next to the car. That catapulted him in the air and fell with the back of his head against a metal pole. As expected the helmet did what it was supposed to. It absorbed the impact of the crash and left his head untouched. When inspecting the helmet you can see 3 smaller cracks in the EPS and 2 small parts in the back of the helmet completely broke off. The bike was hurt the worst with a cracked downtube and 2 broken wheels.

Wear a helmet, you never know when you will need it!

Final kilometers of today's Stage 4 of the 2013 Tour of Turkey won by Lotto-Belisol super sprinter Andre Greipel. Andre was wearing the Lazer Helium helmet and Lazer Vision Optics Solid State SS1 eyewear.
