Optum Pro Cycling finds success in Portugal at the Volta ao Alentejo stage race!

Team Sprinter Ken Hanson won stage 3 and Tom Zirbel won stage 4.

Chad Haga finished 2nd overall in the race!

Team Director Jonas Carney stated:

We were all a bit disappointed that we could not win the overall, but ultimately it was a great week for the team. We won two stages, finished second place three times, fourth once, wore the green jersey for three days, and finished second overall. It’s a great confidence booster to ride so well against some of the strongest continental teams in the world.

Vini Fantini-Selle Italia's Oscar Gatto wins Dwars door Vlaanderen today in Lazer Helium helmet and Lazer Vision Optics Solid State SS1 glasses! From the team press release:

After beating champions like Ballan, Contador and Nibali, now Gatto "tip" on the classics and begins to Waregen triumphing in one of the most important races of the #YELLOWFLUO season.

The theatre is the Dwars door Vlaanderen, one of the most important races of the North, co-star this time Thomas Voeckler, mocked by an incredible Oscar Gatto. A spectacular victory, which makes Luca Scinto exclaim: "I told this" The #YELLOWFLUO Sporting Director, indeed, has always believed in the possibilities of “his” cyclist and today, seeing him on the top step of the podium in Waregem, says: "Gatto has these enterprises in his legs and head. Sometimes it is difficult to manage him because he should believe more in himself, but then he gives you satisfaction like this. I have always been convinced that he has great gifts and is showing them. He can still grow a lot and I'm sure that he will give us a lot of emotions. Today he has done the "perfect race", in one of the best races of our season".

A race as protagonist, who embellishes the final victory and change it into en enterprise. It is on Knokteberg that the struggle turns on. This is the crucial moment of the race and Gatto isn't unprepared. However is on the Paterberg that he becomes the main actor of the race and he succeeds in reaching the two athletes at the head of the race. When there are still 8 kilometres to go, Stannard tries to go alone, but without success, then Voeckler tries, but he has not come to terms with the grit of Gatto, that, a few metres from the finish line, reaches and exceeds him, giving himself and the #YELLOWFLUO team a prestigious victory.

"I am happy" -says the winner - "I have repaid the faith of the organizers and of my team. It was a very tough race, but I felt I was in shape and having to try. It went well. I love the North and hope to do well in what is the race of my dreams: Flanders".
